Y4P is created on the foundation of Christian faith, lived experience, education, and empowerment. Our goal is to prepare adolescence and young adults for adulthood, giving them the tools needed to live a abundant filled life. We are here to strengthen them in their identity, faith, and their purpose.
Youth will be given resources and opportunities to walk into their purpose. They will be given guidance from trained and lived experienced mentors, as well as community connections. We are committed to becoming apart of lives that will be impacted and transformed!
When we have a focus on God's promise for us; His plan for us to prosper, and to have a hope and a future- we are empowered to align ourselves with our purpose.

Meet Our Founder
La’Risha Scott, LLMSW, founded Youth 4 Purpose while working in a group home in Dayton Ohio May 2021. Y4P has now been registered in Michigan as of October 2023, becoming a 501 (c)(3) non-profit in both states.
Hi everyone! I am blessed to have this space to share a little about myself and my testimony.
I am from Dayton, Ohio, born and raised and currently reside in Michigan. I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, earning my Bachelors in Social Work. I then went on to pursue my Master’s in Social Work at University of Michigan graduating with my Masters in Social Work. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership: Christian Ministry at Grand Canyon University. I married in September 2023 to my wonderful husband who also shares the vision and testimony of God moving in life as a youth.
As a youth, I would experience many challenges and hardships at home, in my community, and school. This led me to feeling discouraged, alone, and hopeless. I was introduced to my faith at an younger age, but did not quite understand it all. I soon would gain opportunities that would change my life and transform me for the better. Because of this, I became encouraged, feeling of connectedness, and hopeful. The challenges I faced, became victories of obstacles that I have overcome and excelled. For my reasons, because of Jesus and God.
Attending Ministerial Recruitment Institute as a youth to adulthood, helped me understand my faith and relationship with God. In addition, being able to have mentors in the church and outside the church, provided successful outcomes and tools needed to navigate life. I use my life experiences not only as an Social Worker and Therapist, but as my ministry to support youth through their journey to overcome challenges and into their victories.
